The Wilson Family

Los Alamos National Laboratory

Part B & ELung Cancer

From Limited Records to Full Compensation

Total Benefits: $375,000

The Challenge:

After Thomas Wilson passed away from lung cancer, his family learned he might have been eligible for EEOICPA benefits due to his work at Los Alamos in the 1970s and 1980s. However, they had very limited employment records and weren't sure how to prove his work history or connect his illness to his employment.

Our Approach:

Using our SurvivorCare™ service, we conducted extensive research to reconstruct Thomas's employment history, located former colleagues who provided affidavits confirming his work locations, identified that his work areas were covered under the Special Exposure Cohort, gathered and organized all medical records documenting his cancer diagnosis and treatment, and prepared a comprehensive survivor claim.

The Result:

The Wilson family's claim was approved under both Part B and Part E of the EEOICPA. They received $150,000 in Part B compensation and an additional $225,000 in Part E compensation based on the wage loss Thomas experienced before his passing.

"We had almost no information about my father's work at Los Alamos, just that he was there. Nucleim's team was incredibly supportive and somehow managed to piece together his entire work history. The compensation has helped our family tremendously with expenses we incurred during his illness."

- Sarah W., Thomas's daughter
